What to Expect

How It Works

Helpful Tips for Your Visit

  • Wear comfortable shoes (it can get muddy after rain)
  • Expect uneven ground – strollers are welcome but the terrain can be tricky
  • Bug spray & sunscreen are highly recommended (open field, no shade)
  • Allergy alert: bees love flowers too! Please plan accordingly
  • Held rain or shine
  • Please note: no public restroom on-site

U-Pick Flower Farm – FAQ & Guidelines

🌻 How does U-Pick work?

Pull into the driveway on Y Avenue and park in the grassy area. Head to the staging area (look for the wooden spool with an umbrella) to get started! You'll receive a black bouquet cup (which fits in your car’s cup holder!) and access to scissors or clippers to borrow.

💲 What does it cost?

  • U-Cut Bouquet (cup included): $20
  • U-Cut by the Stem: $2 per stem
  • Payment Options: Cash or Venmo

💐 I’ve never picked flowers before. Will someone help me?

Absolutely! We’re happy to show you the best way to cut stems and build a balanced, beautiful bouquet.

💧 How do I keep my flowers fresh while I pick?

Fill your black cup about 1/3 with water from the orange bucket provided. You can set your cup in one of our white cup holders while you cut.

📸 Can I take photos?

Yes, please! We encourage you to snap photos while you pick. Relax on one of our benches and don’t forget to tag us on Facebook: Golden Petal Flower Farm.

🥪 Can I bring food or drinks?

Of course! Feel free to bring snacks or lunch and make it a picnic among the flowers.

✂️ What should I bring?

  • Outdoor-appropriate shoes or sandals
  • Sunscreen and bug spray
  • Optional: your own sanitized scissors or clippers

🐝 Can I bring someone who has a bee allergy?

We don’t recommend it. Our farm is full of pollinators like bees and wasps, which are essential to our flowers—but may pose a risk to anyone with severe allergies.

🐶 Can I bring my dog or pet?

We love animals, but for everyone’s safety, pets are not allowed on the farm.

🔁 What do I do when I’m done?

Please return your borrowed scissors to the Return Scissors Box and grab a free packet of flower food to help your bouquet last longer in a vase at home!

RELEASE OF LIABILITY

Some flowers can be
irritating or even toxic or poisonous if ingested by humans or
animals.  I agree to hold Golden Petal Flower Farm free of liability
if you or your pet ingests our flowers.

  • No smoking or vaping anywhere on the farm
  • Respect the flowers, the land, and others enjoying the space
  • Professional photographers are welcome — please contact us to join our photographers’ program!
